get excited french quarter!!!

it is being widely reported that the saints have sent a 2nd and a 5th rounder to the giants for te jeremy shockey. the deal would be pending league approval and a physical. i can't say i'm on board with this trade. obviously shockey will have all the opportunity in the world to win me over, but upon first look, i don't like it. shockey is a "me first" douche who for all i can tell is a locker room cancer, and all this for a team who theoretically has no shortage of offensive weapons. so new orleans, your douchiness just went up...congrats.

I'm not crazy about this. He's likely to only play 8 games cuz he's always hurt. And his antics on and off the field are a huge distraction. Hopefully someone in the clubhouse will keep him in line. Because there is no doubt he has ability.

Sean really, really wanted this guy. He's a talent, but as you said, a cancer. It's not like the offense didn't have enough weapons before. Now, they should score around 70 points a game on everyone with this much shit on that side of the ball.

Can someone find me how many picks we are out in the next couple of years between this and Vilma and whatever else? Thanks.

yeah payton and shockey are apparently butt buddies.

vilma = 4th rounder in the draft that just passed, and a conditional pick next year

shockey = 2nd and 5th rounders next year

so basically the saints won't be too busy next april

at least we won't waste time watching anything past the first round. But we'll have to wait a while since the Saints will select last, being Super Bowl champs and all.

I know you're being sarcastic Josh. But in reality the NFC is wiiiide open. The West sucks. The North doesn't have anyone overpowering. The East is really good. But I can't see NY duplicating last year and Dallas always chokes. They honestly have a shot. But like I said.....so do 8 other teams in the NFC.

I agree. But with this much talent on offense and a decent defense, the Saints will face high expectations.
